Much like therapy will often help you draw from experiences in the past, to better understand and shape your present, coaching uses your preferred future as a springboard for setting goals and creating a plan in the present.
We are simply not made to do life and achieve our dreams without help. Often, we need an unbiased voice who will ask us the hard questions and not be satisfied with easy answers.
A coach will help you come up with your “point B,” which can be anything from, “I want to submit a blog post for publication,” to “I want to start my own company.” And lots of “point Bs” in between.
Oftentimes, our lives and minds are so muddled that we don’t even know for sure what it is that we want next. Or we want so many things that we are paralyzed with indecision. Something feels off, something feels stuck, and we know there has to be more. That’s where a coach comes in.
How does it work?
Coaching can be done in person, or most often, online or over the phone. A coach will work with you to try to land at what future you want to work toward living.
Sessions last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour, and most coaching relationships last anywhere from 3 months to 1 year.
